Golden Herd
Horses from the Noykin and Oronir Tribes
The Azim Steppe is a vast and harsh place, from the jagged Tail Mountains to the wastes of the Nhaama Desert. One must have a practical means of transportation. Recently a woman from the Oronir tribe has brought a large herd of well-bred horses to Reunion. Perhaps you have need of one?Horses and goods can be traded for Koban, barter, or pledges of service as compensation. All horses, and therefore all prices, are purely in character. This is just an excuse for RP.
Horses
Steppe Ponies
Hardy and good-natured, these beasts are easy to handle. They are well-suited for rough terrain. Their speed and stamina both suffer over long distances, especially when carrying heavy riders or goods.
Investment: Medium, light if bought in bulk.Pacers
These horses are built for long journeys over the endless plains of the central steppe. They are generally faster and stronger than ponies, though they can go for less time without food and water. These horses excel at delivering a comfortable ride at a fast pace over long distances. While they can be used as war or hunting horses, their relative expense and only modest gains over ponies make this practice unwise.
Investment: HeavyWhite Horses
You've found your Nhaama. Or perhaps your glorious Azim? Or is it your son or daughter who found their beloved? No steppe wedding is complete without a pure white horse galloping to the groom's tent. Make sure the bride's last day in their iloh of old is perfect, and that the groom's family know how much they're worth! You could also buy a white warhorse, uh, if you really wanted.
Investment: Very HeavyWarhorses
Gently arched, thin necks. Barrel chests. Nasty temperaments. These are elite horses for the warrior elite--that is, if they didn't already have yols. It is said that Noykin warhorses can nearly fly like yols, however, and they are trained to be fearless in battle. They are also strong enough to carry heavy barding and an equally armored rider.
Investment: Very heavy"Heavenly Horses"
It is said that this monstrous breed of blood-sweating kingly horse died out with the last of the old Doman warlords; however, an Ulhur of the Noykin claims to have found three of these mythical beasts after the liberation.
Investment: Extreme, requires bartering
Services & Goods
A horse is only as good to its master as it is treated. Should one need saddles, bits, reins, bags, wagons, these goods will all be traded at a fair price--with heavy discount for horses bought from Azimbayar.Do you need barding to protect your steed in battle?
Quilted: Light
Leather/Hoof scale: Medium
Bronze scale: Heavy
Iron: Very heavyIn addition, if one needs a wild beast of any kind broken and trained (save a yol, do it yourself), one may ask for assistance in this matter from Azimbayar or her cousins in the Noykin tribe. The price of this service depends on the beast involved and the circumstances of its capture.
